The reports that some State ministers and Union Minister for Tourism Chiranjeevi are plotting to rebel against Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy is disturbing. The rebels met at Minister Anam Ramnarayan Reddy’s residence to chalk out a strategy to counter iran on his tirade against the high command on the bifurcation issue, it is said.

Certainly this lot–Anam Ramnarayan Reddy, Chiranjeevi, Kondru Murali, Botsa Satyanarayana, Balaraju and Pitani Satyanarayana have no business to criticise the team leader in order to please the high command. They are aware of the situation of Seemandhra which is burning with protests all over against bifurcation of the State. What Kiran expressed in this background is only fair. He has to meet the needs of not only Telangana but Seemandhra as well and the rebels, who all claim to support integrated state, should think positively and not blame the CM for expressing his anguish. If they want to rebel, they have no business to continue in the cabinet, barring, of course, Chiranjeevi who is a Union minister.

That Chiranjeevi wants to toe the line of the Centre and turn a sycophant of Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and other is understandable. He has tasted power only recently and as a tourism minister is on several foreign jaunts. He seem to enjoy the power and does not want to let go immediately. But the others have been in power for quite sometime and had their way, making most of their position. If they do not support Samaikyandhra in their region, it will be very difficult for them in the next elections. And changing party to join YSRCP is already too late.

By opposing Kiran who is voicing the concern of Seemandhra people, they are doing a disservice to their region. Already, the Samaikyandhra non-political leaders, students and other joint action committees are demanding the resignation of the ministers, including Union ministers and Chiranjeevi is no exception. But the minister filed to respond which has caused considerable unhappiness to the agitating public which may not take kindly to their stand in the next general elections.
