New Delhi: After attempting to block Pranab Mukherjee’s candidature for the post of President, Mamata Banerjee is now set to oppose UPA’s choice for Vice President, Hamid Ansari.

Ansari, the current Vice President, is tipped to get another term as the UPA is believed to have made up its mind on giving him another term.

Ansari was in fact among UPA’s choices for President also but was left out after Pranab emerged as the consensus candidate within the ruling coalition.

Reports said Mamata is not happy with the way Ansari played his role as Rajya Sabha Chairman during the Lokpal debate late last year.

Her party, the Trinamool Congress instead wants former West Bengal governor Gopal Krishna or Krishna Bose as the next VP, as per reports.

Also, as regards Presidential poll, reports said the Trinamool is likely to abstain during voting as it is not inclined to support both Pranab and PA Sangma.
