RMK.Sharma, Visakhapatnam: It is was one of the memorable programmes , I have attended and enjoyed. More over, I was told that this is the first of the musical tributes (Programme) to the Star organised in the country. The selective musical number sung by the singers took me to a three hours unforgettabel musical ride, said the Chief Guest of the function and Director Naval Science & Technological Laborotory(NSTL), S. V.Rangarajan in his address to the gathering before honouring the artists in the show ” Ek Shaam Kaka Ke Naam” a musical tribute to the Super Star Rajesh Khanna jointly organised by TARANG-NSTL Cultural Society and David’s Rhythm & Taal at Manasi Auditorium on Sunday evening.
The programme started by paying floral tributes to late Rajesh Khanna’s photo followed by the popular dailogue of the star from his one of the hit films ‘Anand’ by the Compherer of the show and an NSTL Scientist, Chandra Shekhar ” Zindagi Badi Honi Chahiye, Naaki Lambi” means Life should be big and not long. The opening song of the show was sung by the singer David and Ms. Jyoti ” Hume Aur Jeene Chahat Na Hoti Agar Tum Na Hote” from the film Agar Tum Na Hote, followed by songs ” Zindagi Kaisi Hai Paheli Haye” and “Zindagi Pyaar Ka Geet, Ise Har Dil Ko Gaana Padega” from the film ‘Sautan’.
As many as twenty five songs from Rajesh Khanna starrer films were sung by singers Abid Ali, R.VV.Satyanarayana, Anand, Ms. Jyoti and Ms. Poorna. Chandra Shekhar sung the song ” Kahin Door Jab Din Dhal Jaaye, Saanjh Ki Dulhan Badan Churaye, Chupke Se Aaye” originally sung by Late Mukesh Chandra Mehta for the film ‘Anand’. The songs include “Zindagi Ke Safar Mein Guzar Jaate Hain Jo Makam, Woh Phir Nahin Aate… and Karvate Baldalte Rahen Saari Raat Hum”(Aap Ki Kasam), “Chupgaye Saare Nazaare Hoye Kya Baat Hogaee” (Do Raaste), “Parvata Ke Peeche Cambela Gaon, Goan Mein Do Premi Rahte Hain”(Mehbooba), ” Aate Jaate Khoobsoorat Awara Sadkon Par” (Anurodh), “Main Shayar Badnam”(Namakharam), ” Hume Tumse Pyaar Kitna, Ye Hum Nahin Jante Magar Jee Nahin Sakte Tumhare Bina”, ” Mere Dil Mein Aaj Kya Hai, Tu Kahe tao Main Bata Doon”(Daag), ” Chala Jaata Hoon Kisike Dhunn Mein”(Mere Jeevan Saathi), ” Kora Kagaz Tha Ye Mann Mera, Likh Diya Naam Uspe Tera and Mere Sapano Ki Rani Kab Ayegi Tu..”(Aradhana), Zindagi Ek Safar Hai Suhan, Yahan Kal Kya Ho Kisne Jaana” (Andaz) etc.
The Programme concluded with the star’s popular number ” Achha Tao Hum Chalte Hain” from the film ‘Aan Milo Sajana’.
