Bay News Network, Visakhapatnam: The GVMC officials are intensifying the ‘Weekly Once Cycle’ campaign. They started a new cycling programme at YSR Park in the evening from 4.30 to 5.50 on every Friday. ‘Weekly Once Cycle’ programme was introduced by the GVMC Commissioner B. Ramanjaneyulu to promote Eco- Values among the Officials and Public. He himself is using the cycle weekly once.

The campaign got momentum with declaring the Vehicle Free Zones at Beach Road and at YSR Park in the City. The experiment got wide appreciation and is going on successfully at both places. The GVMC had provided 100 cycles at the Beach Road and another at YSR Park to facilitate for the interested people.

To take the campaign into the public, especially into the youngsters the GVMC officials are motivating different Organizations, Schools and Colleges to participate in the campaign.

They made arrangements at YSR Park for cycling in the evening from 4.30 to 5.30 on every Friday. So, interested Organizations or Institutions may participate in the campaign, the officials said. Till now the Visakha Cycle Polo Club and Saint Joseph’s Women’s College and other institutions participated in the cycling at YSR Park.
