3_1Bay News Network, Visakhapatnam: The GVMC Commissioner B. Ramajaneyulu and MLA Tynala Vijaya Kumar should inaugurate the JNNURM scheme houses in Relli Veedhi, Rajendra Nagar immidiately for the benifit of the public without any further delay, demanded the Ex- corporator of the 13th ward GV Ravi Raju here on Wednesday.

Addressing the media on the issue, Raviraju demanded that the GVMC Commissioner B. Ramajaneyulu and the MLA Tynala Vijay Kumar to take necessary action immidiately in this regard and handover the houses to the benificaries within ten days, or-else he alongwith the allotees would stage a relay dharna at GVMC Office.

Ravi Raju said that there were about hundred families living in small huts in Relli Veedhi, Rajendra Nagar when he was the corporator of that ward in 2007. With his relentless efforts the GVMC officials sanctioned 96 houses under JNNURM Scheme. The allotees paid their share Rs. 20,300 each family. The  foundation stone was laid by the local MLA Tynala Vijay Kumar in 2009 and the project was reportedly completed in December 2011, he informed.

He further alleged that the local MLA  and the GVMC officials hatched a conspiracy to postpone the inauguration of the same for their vested interests, as the credit may go to the corporator if the houses were handed over before february 2012, ending of the Corporation tenure. The houses were not given to the benificaries  even after six months of the completion of the tennure. The poor families are living in hell without any shelter. This was causing inconvenience to the neighbours also, he added.
