Ploy to handover VSP to Private Parties : Mantri

3_6Bay News Network, Visakhapatnam: Work in the Visakapatnam Steel Plant almost came to standstill on Tuesday as All Trade Unions obeserved a one day Bandh against the proposed disinvestment of 10 percent share in the Steel Plant. All the employees including Contract Labour boycotted the duties and staged dharna in-front of the Steel Plant main gate.

Steel Plant Official Unions INTUC, CITU, AITUC and others  jointly called for the one day strike demanding to withdraw the disinvestment proposal.

Addressing the gathering INTUC leader Manthri Rajasekhar alleged that the Central Government was hatching a conspiracy to sell the plant to the private parties.  He condemned the Management’s claim that enlisting of the Steel Plant will bring international reputation as a big lie.

AITUC leader D.Adinarayana Rao criticised the disinvestment plan and said that it just a plan  to favour the Private capitalists. Citing the disinvestment of Banking and the HPCL, they yeilded good results neither to the companies nor to the employees. He warned that the stir against the disinvestment would continue till the Central Government with drew the proposal.

AICTU leader Ch.Sanyasi Rao, JMS leader V.Srinivasa Rao, CITU leader N.Rama Rao, VSEU leader P.Thrinadha Rao, AITUC leader Bosu Babu and others participated in the protest. Gajuwaka Police took all measures to prevent any untoward incident.
